POST FOR 1/11, 1/18, 1/25 - Made the MISTAKE of posting them in another blog

Post for 1/11 - Alexey Abramov

I have to say that I am absolutely in love with Alexey Abramov's online portfolio. I love how he's incorporated the town of Moscow into who he is as a designer and his works, all with the use of flash. I can appreciate the fact that his "About Me" is short, sweet, and to the point. When viewing his actual portfolio, he gives you a brief description of the project he was assigned on the left. I think this is a great way to give clients/companies background information as to what tasks you were given and how you went about executing them instead of leaving them guessing. I also appreciate the fact that he has the option to toggle his website from English to Russian. The only problem I found when using this site were the buttons used in flash. If you didn't click a certain area, the action wasn't really recognized. Overall, I think this is one of the best online portfolios I've seen.

Post for 1/18 - FormTroopers

FormTroopers is a design firm based in Copenhagen, Denmark. This firm specializes in Motion & Graphic Design. Thankfully, this site is pretty minimalistic, simple, and easy to use and navigate through. I like how they state who they are, what they're about, and provide pictures showing their common work area. I think taking pictures of my work area at home would be a great way to incorporate who I am in my About Me. On their Work page, they provide brief descriptions of their projects and their advertisement videos/design videos. Some of them also include HQ video stills as well.

Post for 1/25 - David Airey

With this post I wanted to take a different approach and focus more on the content of David Airey's online portfolio versus the way it is designed. The fact that his online portfolio is setup like a blog, could make an impatient client skip over some of his pretty impressive projects. I think I like the quick thumbnail preview approach more, than having to just scroll through and wait for something to catch my eye. On the otherhand, I do appreciate the different pages on his site such as the FAQ's, Testimonials, and the Advice for Design Students. These pages are pretty much straight to the point and he provides enough helpful links to get you to where you need to be.
